Fused glass Portrait of W.B. Yeats - I will arise

A striking green kiln-fired fused glass light-catcher featuring a portrait of W.B. Yeats, hand-painted with black glass enamel, and a hand-printed line of text from his poem, The Lake Isle of Innisfree. The light-catcher is composed of 3 layers of glass: the painted portrait layer, the printed text layer and a clear base layer. The 2 decorated pieces of glass were kiln-fired to 700°C to set the enamel. Then the 3 layers were fuse fired together to 760°C. Each panel is finished by drilling a hole in the top of the fired piece and a length of waxed cotton cord added for hanging.

Each piece is cut, hand-painted, kiln-fired and finished with love in my home studio in rural Co. Sligo.

Glass measures 13 x 7 x 0.8cm.
